湯瑪索長期以假名「馬奎斯」為兩性雜誌撰寫感情專欄，低調到連交往十年的女友都被蒙在鼓裡。某天，他在幾封傷心的讀者來信中，留意到一位有意與男友分手卻不知如何開口的女子；寫信的不是別人，正是自己的女友柔伊。一時不知如何是好的湯瑪索，決定以「馬奎斯」名義繼續與柔伊通信，兩人的關係開始發生微妙變化。
不管是婚姻還是同居，要斬斷一段十年的感情有多困難？要找到合適的方式、合適的語句提出分手，有多不容易？《完美陌生人》男星艾爾阿爾多里奧自導自演，從一對交往多年的情侶關係中，述說一段發現另一半如何看待我們、如何憎恨我們的故事。正如導演所言，結束一段關係，「並不僅是離開我們的伴侶，而是離開原有的社交圈、感情、習慣，以及所有讓我們感到安全的東西。」
What if you could anonymously discover your girlfriend’s secrets? And what if you soon found out she wants to leave you? How difficult and painful is it to break up after ten years together? How can one find the words and the way? Is it possible to leave a man without making him suffer deeply? Maybe one could, in a moment of hopelessness and loneliness, write to a relationship advice column, to seek help. But what if that letter is received by mistake by your partner?

1972年生於羅馬，義大利知名演員、導演、編劇。1997年演出《課堂比水更深》初登銀幕，其後活躍於影視界及舞台劇，2020年曾以《幸運女神》入圍義大利銀緞帶獎影帝。2010年自導自演處女作《十八年後》，獲得義大利奧斯卡最佳新導演提名，表演或導演成績皆有卓越表現。
Leo graduated in Literature and Philosophy, showing his keen interest to become a professional actor since his very early years. 15 years after his debut as an actor, he started his career as a film director in 2009 with the road movie 18 Years Later, winning the David di Donatello for the Best Debut Director. Until today he has directed six films with one more to be released in 2022, I Am Not What I Am.
