緬甸村莊，十二歲女孩虹霞為了家庭生計，揣著不安接受母親安排，委身嫁給遠方未曾謀面的中國男子。婚禮當天，新郎臥病在床不克前來，代替新郎迎娶虹霞的，是媒婆手中的一隻大公雞。公雞雞冠昂揚如鮮血、新娘紅袍喜氣呈富貴，紅的意象貫穿影片，化為他者眼中的荒誕魔幻，卻是緬甸女性熟悉的現實世界。
Somewhere in Myanmar, twelve-year-old Hung Hsia wears a red wedding dress, the
same color as the blood from the slit throat of a rooster. She has accepted her mother’s arrangement for a wedding to a Chinese man she barely knew, in support of her family. The bird and the Burmese girl stood before the altar a moment ago, as newlyweds – the former as a stand-in for the absent husband.

緬甸華僑，就讀於北藝大電影創作研究所。作品《遙遠之地》與《以啟山林》分獲金穗獎2018年學生組最佳紀錄片與2020年一般組優等獎。
Myo Aung is a Burmese-Chinese director who began his career as a documentary filmmaker and has recently expanded into fictional short film. His works focus on the present Myanmar and the Burmese immigrants in Taiwan. He was awarded at Golden Harvest Awards for Where We Belong in 2018 and for Fire at Forest in 2020. Rooster was selected into Berlinale and Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia.
