Zorg lives a quiet peaceful life in France until one day a beautiful young woman Betty, wild and unpredictable, steps into his life. After a dispute with Zorg's boss they leave and Betty manages to get a job at a restaurant. She persuades Zorg to have his books published but it is rejected. Suddenly, Betty flies into a rage and her wild manners get out of control. Zorg sees the woman he loves slowly going insane. Can his love prevail even if it comes to the worst?

1946年出生於巴黎，被視為法國視覺系電影（Cinéma du look）運動的重要旗手。1970年代擔任名導尚貝克的助理，1980年代開始拍攝自己的作品，首作《歌劇紅伶》即獲影壇注目，隨後《巴黎野玫瑰》更成為其最膾炙人口的代表作。畢生執導六部劇情長片，而後多投身製片工作。2022年因白血病逝於巴黎，享壽七十五歲。
French filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix is a director, producer and writer, best-known for two of the most provocative films of the 1980s: Diva (1982) and Betty Blue (1986). Dark, haunting, and filled with substantial helpings of violence and/or sex, both films were great successes and later categorized in the "cinéma du look", which also includes works of Luc Besson and Léos Carax.
