Dr. Alithea Binnie is an academic - content with life and a creature of reason. While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past. Eventually she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both.

1945年生於布里斯本，澳洲知名導演、編劇，在投身影壇前曾是一名執業醫生。1979年自編自導《迷霧追魂手》（Mad Max）取得出色票房成績，並陸續拍攝一系列影片，三十六年後更重啟推出《瘋狂麥斯：憤怒道》，獲得巨大成功，入圍奧斯卡最佳導演。亦曾以《快樂腳》奪下奧斯卡最佳動畫片。
A native of Australia, Miller made his feature-length directorial debut with Mad Max (1979) and went on with two further sequels starring Mel Gibson; Mad Max 2 (1981) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985). In 2006, his first animated film Happy Feet garnered the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The action adventure Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) premiered at Cannes, and received six Academy Awards among ten nominations.
