雙胞胎兄弟哥雅和瓦西里在七歲時便被父親拋棄，二十年後，哥雅步上犯罪之路成為小偷與毒販，瓦西里則成為一名警察，準備迎接美好的婚姻生活。這些年間，兩兄弟漸漸不再聯繫，活出截然不同的人生，卻都在無形間深受父親缺席的影響。當他們接獲父親在盧森堡即將病逝的消息，哥雅和瓦希里再度重聚，但歷經多年未見，他們能成功找到這位混蛋老爸嗎？

一如首部作品《樂咖浮生錄》般的冷冽幽默，烏克蘭導演安東尼奧盧基奇在本片再展喜劇長才，不僅放入插科打諢似的巧妙笑點，於沉重和滑稽間取得完美平衡，更豐富立體地刻劃出片中角色情緒，帶來這部笑中帶淚的尋父公路之旅。根據自身父親缺席的成長經驗，導演形容道本片可以理解為自己獻給父親的真摯情書，亦希望能從中找尋為何人們總在追求拋棄自己的人事物。

There are many beautiful places to die. Luxembourg is not one of them. But beautiful or not, Luxembourg makes dying very expensive. Twin brothers, Kolya and Vasily, were abandoned by their father at the age of seven. However, Kolya considers him a hero, while Vasily thinks he is a scoundrel. Over the years, they drift apart, leading vastly different lives. When twin brothers learn that their father is dying in Luxembourg far away from them, they both set out a journey to Luxembourg in search of their dad for one last time. Will the man they find be the bad-ass dad they remember?
