「Bachiranun」在日本『與那國島語』中意思是「永誌不忘」。導演東盛愛華出生在這個日本極西點沖繩縣上的「與那國島」，拍攝手法揉合了成長經驗與消逝的傳統文化，造就其獨特的電影製作風格，在首部長片中同時自編自導並擔任主演，一舉奪得Pia電影節首獎。本片模糊了紀實與虛構間的界線，讓個人經驗與島嶼歷史文化相互呼應，以細膩奇想般的切角將地方樣貌縮影至最簡單的人事物當中，包括穿制服的女學生（東盛本人）、戴草帽的年輕人、揮舞著骨頭的年輕女子和祖母。觀眾將在蒙太奇虛實交替的剪接影像節奏中，進入拍攝者眼中迷人的島嶼天光，用花、果、骨、儀式等等物件作為影像主體，書寫一封超越土地、跨越人文的動人情書。
Overlaying the history and culture of Yonaguni Island with the director's personal experiences, this film intersects with a world-drawn fantasy with motifs such as flowers, fruits, bones, and ceremonies, to tell a story of the land and its people that transcends the boundaries of fiction and documentary. The word “BACHIRANUN” means “I will never forget” in the dialect of Yonaguni Island of Okinawa, where is the westernmost point of Japan.

東盛愛華，1997年出生於日本的沖繩縣與那國島。畢業於京都藝術大學電影學系表演科，身兼演員與導演身分。其指導及主演的畢業作品《國境之島的生與死》贏得了2021年日本PIA電影節首獎，並在日本院線上映。
Higashimori Aika, born in 1997, was originally from Yonaguni Island. While enrolled in the Film Studies Department, Major in Acting, at Kyoto University of Arts, she appeared in numerous student films and explored various aspects of filmmaking. Her graduation project, Bachiranun, which was her first-directed film, won the Grand Prix at the Pia Film Festival 2021. She is now also active as an actor.
