熱愛教書的喬治老師離鄉背井來到靜謐山村中一所小學任教，一轉眼便是二十多年。而他山居歲月的人生夢想，也在每一個奔馳於青青田野間的孩子身上實現。就在學生們要畢業，他也將退休之際，眼前這些可愛的孩子們卻突然讓他放不下心……
「我一直堅信一部偉大的電影，是要從那些看似微不足道的細節出發。所以我相信孩子們在學加減乘除的過程，也能個如史詩般的電影題材。」紀錄片名導尼可拉斯菲力柏特在本片中以其一貫敏銳的眼光和獨特的視角，瞄準人們最容易忽視的世界去拍攝。而從電影裡嬉鬧的孩童笑聲中，觀眾也彷彿能感受銀幕另一頭細微的呼吸與心跳，是個教人笑中帶淚、豁然開朗的溫暖故事。
In rural France, school teacher Georges Lopez educates 12 children. Over a year, he instructs them in one classroom with the traditional tools of French teaching. As the seasons pass, the soon-to-retire Lopez must keep his students disciplined while training the older ones for their imminent exams.

尼可拉斯．菲力柏特，1951出生於法國南錫，就讀阿爾卑斯大學哲學系，在父親的鼓勵下，展開其電影生涯，常以人文關懷為起始，以其別樹一幟的手法，聚焦於日常所被忽視之種種，代表作為《山村猶有讀書聲》、《音躍巴黎》，2023年以《塞納河上的船屋》榮獲柏林影展最佳影片金熊獎。
Born in Nancy, France in 1951, Nicolas Philibert studied philosophy and began his film career in the 1970s. After making several shorts, he directed his debut feature-length documentary La Ville Louvre in 1990. Since 2002, his films have been presented in over 100 retrospectives and tribute events around the world. In 2023, his latest film, On the Adamant, won the Golden Bear Award in 2023 Berlinale.
