地殼震動，來自地底的力量一觸即發。90 年代的炎炎夏日，對於13 歲青少年保羅與他的狐群狗黨朋友來說，沒什麼比拿到任天堂紅白機還令人期待了，然而，時不時發生的區域性大停電，讓好動的男孩們被迫暫停打電動破關，也因此踏上了人生中最令他們難忘的旅程：探索初戀的滋味、體驗登大人的割禮、勇闖墳墓的抓鬼大冒險以及理解友情的珍貴。 充滿濃厚90 年代復古風，結合大量當時正夯的西方流行音樂、速食文化、以及再現電玩迷封為經典的任天堂紅白機及其遊戲。本片帶有濃厚自傳色彩，其故事發想來自製片也是本片編劇瓦樂麗．馬丁尼茲(Valerie MARTINEZ)，80 年代出生的她與導演是從小長大的鄰居，一直到2000 年才自菲律賓前往美國求學發展。劇本創作一直是她的興趣。因緣巧合與導演拉亞．馬丁重拾聯繫，兩人便展開電影合作。 The earth is trembling and emotions are running hot. Just yesterday the newest game from Nintendo was all Paolo and his friends could think about-while the occasional blackouts caused by the nearby volcano were their biggest concern. Alas, all that has been shaken up forever for Paolo's sleepy suburban Manila clique, in a dawning world of elaborate feminine hair-dos, crude rituals of masculinity and a mysterious ghost hunt. Mimaw appears to be the only one able to keep a clear head among aftershocks from multiple emo-epicentres.

曾經被選為五十歲以下最重要的青年導演之一。其作品曾展映於坎城影展、多倫多影展、柏林影展、盧卡諾等重要影展。2009 年驚為天人之作《Indepencia》入選坎城影展一種注目單元；同年，另一部作品 《馬尼拉》也於坎城特別放映，成為史上第一位菲律賓籍導演擁有兩部作品在坎城放映的紀錄。 Named one of the 50 most important filmmakers under 50 by Cinema Scope, Raya MARTIN's films have screened in Cannes, Toronto, Locarno, and New York . His breakthrough feature Indepencia, hailedasa singular mix of Filipino history and Hollywood fantasy, screened in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. Manila also screened at Cannes the same year as a Special Screening, marking the first time a Filipino director had two films in the festival.
