嗓音迷人的非裔女伶辛西亞擁有一票死忠的歌迷，堅持原創的她始終不願錄製唱片，只在現場演唱；崇拜她的郵差朱爾斯幾乎每一場都不辭千里去捧場，甚至偷偷錄下她的歌聲聆賞。不料這盜錄的錄音帶引來盜版商的覬覦，而另一捲存有犯罪證據的卡帶竟陰錯陽差地掉入他的郵差袋。單純的癡迷愛戀命運般地捲入黑幫的利益糾葛中，進而招致驚心動魄的殺身之禍。
尚賈克貝內首部長片，融合通俗小說、法國新浪潮及好萊塢B級動作電影為一爐，歌劇女伶、郵差、妓女、盜版商、還有正邪難分的黑白兩道多方角力，錯綜複雜，風格強烈，兼具懸疑、浪漫愛情、冒險等敘事元素，渾然天成地拼貼出多采多姿的視聽效果。鏡頭隨著人物狂飆在巴黎夜色下，人物情感與都市空間交織的衝突，更襯托出1980年代的躁動與不安。
A young opera-loving mailman, Jules, becomes inadvertently entangled in murder, when a young woman fleeing two mob hit men drops an incriminating cassette into his mailbag. Jules has just recently recorded opera star Cynthia Hawkins' latest concert, something of a coup as Hawkins refuses to make recordings of any kind. Soon Jules finds himself the target of the hit men, who want the voice recording, and also of another couple of ominous and mysterious agents.

導演介紹
1946年出生於巴黎，被視為法國視覺系電影（Cinéma du look）運動的重要旗手。1970年代擔任名導尚貝克的助理，1980年代開始拍攝自己的作品，首作《歌劇紅伶》即獲影壇注目，隨後《巴黎野玫瑰》更成為其最膾炙人口的代表作。畢生執導六部劇情長片，而後多投身製片工作。2022年因白血病逝於巴黎，享壽七十五歲。 French filmmaker Jean-Jacques Beineix is a director, producer and writer, best-known for two of the most provocative films of the 1980s: Diva (1982) and Betty Blue (1986). Dark, haunting, and filled with substantial helpings of violence and/or sex, both films were great successes and later categorized in the "cinéma du look", which also includes works of Luc Besson and Léos Carax.
