Zane自小生長在臺灣,並在雙重文化中長大。他從小自認是一個臺灣人,卻隨著年齡的增長,開始對自已身份產生了疑問。他服務於非政府組織(NGO)的媽媽Ela,經常協助來自印尼、菲律賓、越南等地的移住者,協助安頓他們在臺灣的生活。在大學教書的爸爸Ricky,則一邊忙於教學和學術研究,一邊以自身經驗引導Zane面對多元文化的成長,父母親都想讓他理解那不僅是身份的認同,更是一種生活的選擇…。
