1980年代，一種戰鬥力高強的生物武器出現在戰場上，奉世界銀行之命前往東京調查的特務早矢，循線發現名為「黃金猴」的毒品在黑市流竄，據說吸食後會獲得無窮能量，變成一具暴力滿載、喪失記憶與人性的軀殼。返國度假的士兵宗司無端捲入這樁國際案件，不解風情的他被迫與自稱絕世美人的早矢攜手追查真相，他們發現一切混亂的禍源似乎與輻射及突變有關，而宗司的出身正是來自被核爆摧毀的城市……
幾乎一手包辦全片創作的導演谷中屋，以香港九龍城寨為靈感來源，虛構一個犯罪橫行的萬惡東京，眼花撩亂的霓虹招牌，復古的娼館紅燈區，鏽跡斑駁的空中有軌電車，一幅幅滿是未來感的末世圖景，彷彿《銀翼殺手》的城市再現。
A fictitious 1980s Japan. Soji, a soldier on furlough, returns to his country. He receives a request from Haya, who was sent from the World Bank, to help her on a mission to investigate a narcotic called "Golden Monkey" which is running rampant through Japanese society and black market. Some consider it with potential to be used as bio-weapon, and the two of them find the source of chaos seemed to be related to radiation and mutation…

導演介紹
大學主修電影，在拍攝多部真人及動畫短片之後，《東京闇變》是其獨力完成的長篇動畫作品。不僅入選日本SKIP CITY國際影展國內競賽長片單元，更一舉邁向世界舞台，獲邀於2022年鹿特丹影展放映，備受好評。 Yanakaya majored in film at university. He has made a number of short films, including both live-action and animated works. Battlecry is Yanakaya’s first feature length animation, created all by himself and was selected for IFFR 2022 and Skip City International D-Cinema Festival. He uses computer animation in a way that is at times reminiscent of 90s computer games: rough shapes and shadows and bright colors give this drama an original look.
