金門這蕞爾小島，在二戰後短短半世紀內，經歷過多次戰役。島上的百姓，曾支援著國軍，經歷那段砲火的洗禮。而如今，回憶早已泛去，當年親身經歷戰火，走過恐懼悲歡歲月的金門人，已逐漸凋逝。對於戰後新生代，硝煙裊裊的記憶，雖已日漸遠去，但島嶼的陰影，卻從未散去。
本片運用實驗性的紀錄片手法，藉戰地金門學子追懷古戰場的情景，映照家鄉父老的戰地創傷經驗，再現戰爭殘酷與無奈，並緬懷那些為島嶼付出生命和血淚的人們。這是一部融合行為藝術的影像展演、也是一部跳脫劇情窠臼的紀錄電影，更是一部沒有砲火的戰爭影片。
In the short span of half a century after World War II, the remote island of Kinmen has witnessed numerous battles. Its people once supported the national army, enduring the battles and gunfire. Today, memories have faded, and those who personally experienced the fires of war, the Kinmen residents who walked through fearful and sorrowful times, are gradually passing away. For the post-war new generation, the memories of billowing smoke may be fading, but the island's shadows have never disappeared.

導演介紹
董振良，金門古崗人，退伍後在台北一家傳播公司擔任攝影助理，自己買了一台VHS攝影就開始拍起片來，首部作品便談到家鄉金門的交通醫療問題，進而為了記錄金門社運，在1989年與朋友一同創立了螢火蟲映像體。董振良的拍攝風格深深受到成長於戰地金門的歷史背景環境所影響，在戒嚴時期就開始偷偷進行拍攝，透過紀錄片反映人民心聲，同時將金門的影像作品透過在全國舉辦影展傳遞出去。 Dong Cheng-liang, born in Kinmen, in order to document the student movement in Kinmen, co-founded "Firefly Image Company" in 1989 with friends. His filming style was deeply influenced by the complicated historical background of Kinmen. During the period of martial law, he used documentary filmmaking to reflect the voices of the people and explore the essence of Kinmen.
